sex music for brainiacs.” We have no idea what that means, but we do know
that his DC area debut show at Velvet Lounge (915 U St., NW • 202-462-
3213) on Thursday, Oct. 25 is one you don’t want to miss. Shifting seamlessly
from funk heavy toe-tappers like “New Enemy” and “Too Many” to
alt.rock-style gems like “Dive In” that could easily come from a Jeff Tweedy
side project, Sugar Jones’ sophomore CD, Bring Your Own Insanity, is one of
the most musically satisfying indie discs to cross our desks in a while.
